West Coast Kids Cancer Foundation is dedicated to building the best pediatric oncology camp in the world. The concept is centred around inspiring a sense of joy and community for children and families facing childhood cancer and blood disorders. Set on Stave Lake and working closely with the Kwantlen First Nation to create a place of healing, restoration and hope, the camp will let kids and their families safely come together to grow their bond. Most of all, however, it’s envisioned as a place where kids can simply be kids. Early designs encourage activity and interaction, contemplation and play. This includes a performance stage, a swimming pool, a dining hall, a boat launch, and a main lodge. Every effort is made to make each visitor feel like they have the ability to access every corner of the forest, every part of the waterfront; anywhere on the site their bravery and imaginations will take them.
